AWTG as Project Partner of DSIT’s TUDOR Consortium

AWTG is delighted to be part of the prestigious TUDOR (Towards Ubiquitous 3D Open Resilient Network) consortium, alongside a distinguished team of experts. The project, which emerged as a winner in the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT)’s The Future Open Networks Research Challenge(FONRC), is a landmark £12,000,000 initiative. This ambitious research endeavour aims to address critical societal, environmental, and economic challenges such as the digital divide and energy efficiency through groundbreaking innovations in open telecommunications systems.

TUDOR focuses on advancing the UK Government’s Open-RAN principles by developing and ensuring the seamless interoperability of open network components within the broader RAN, core, and transport network environments and service platforms. This cutting-edge research spans across various network types, including terrestrial, airborne, and satellite networks, and aims to contribute to future standards like 5G, 5G Advanced, and 6G. TUDOR is set to generate essential intellectual property and enhance skills within the industry, positioning itself as a crucial player in the future of telecommunications.
