AWTG to Showcase DSIT Project, SCONDA, at Connected Britain 2024

AWTG is delighted to announce its participation as a Silver Sponsor at Connected Britain 2024. The event, taking place on September 11-12 at ExCel London will provide a platform for AWTG to showcase its core activities and the innovative project, SCONDA, for which AWTG is lead partner. Attendees can visit Booth 159 where AWTG and SCONDA will be exhibiting to learn more about these initiatives.

 

The SCONDA Project, a groundbreaking multi-million-pound initiative funded by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT). SCONDA aims to address the unique technical and commercial challenges of deploying 5G and OpenRAN in high-density demand areas. Headed by AWTG and coordinated with The Scotland 5G Centre, partner leading on the dissemination, SCONDA is part of the Open Network Ecosystem Competition and will be a world-first to integrate OpenRAN and Traditional RAN in such a demanding environment. This pioneering effort aligns with AWTG’s role as a key player in multiple DSIT consortiums, delivering substantial economic and social value through expertise in OpenRAN and AI technology.

 

Highlighting their significant contributions to the industry, Ian Vernon, AWTG’s COO, will be a featured speaker at the event. Ian Vernon will provide insights into the role of OpenRAN in the UK and discuss SCONDA’s goals and future plans. His speaking schedule will be announced soon.

 

In addition to AWTG and The Scotland 5G Centre, which is also supporting this innovative endeavor and the SCONDA showcase at the exhibition, the SCONDA Project brings together a consortium of powerhouse partners including ThreeFreshwave GroupMavenirUniversity of SurreyPI WorksUniversity of Glasgow, and Accenture. . Visitors to Booth 159 will have the opportunity to explore how the integration of OpenRAN and Traditional RAN can revolutionise high-density demand environments, handling live traffic more efficiently and effectively.

 

DSIT will be at stand 215 in the exhibition hall. The stand will serve as a collaboration area for Open Networks Programme projects and will also host UKTIN and their technical advisor services.
