As part of AWTG’s objective to contribute to raising the world’s standard that help make technology better, safer, and more sustainable for the future, AWTG is proud to inform of its participation in IEEE Standards Association (IEEE SA) to define the scope for Reviewing the IEEE Standard P2301 into a new standard. The scope is submitted to IEEE’s New Standard Commission (NesCom) and work will begin on the New Standard early next year.

The IEEE SA is a worldwide technical body composed of active members from academia, government, industry and professional societies who focus on standards development. The purpose of the SA is to support the creation of technical standards by providing expertise and advice on issues such as technical content and methodologies; process; administration; review; revision and approval; publication; creation of working groups; coordination with other organizations; education activities; promotion of cooperation among all stakeholders including governments and international bodies that are important in their field or activity.

IEEE SA was formed in 1961 as an independent organization with its own governing Board comprised of leading professionals from academia, government, industry and professional societies who have been selected by their peers for their leadership skills and experience in particular fields.

AWTG is committed to working with NesCom members, IEEE Standards Association staff and other stakeholders to ensure that this important task will be completed successfully.
