AWTG to Speak in Smart and Connected Social Places – Glasgow

AWTG is pleased to announce its presence as speakers in the Smart and Connected Social Places – Connectivity Event taking place on 21 October 2024, at 9:00 am, at the Glasgow City Chambers Banqueting Hall and Mahogany Suite.

Mike Carter, AWTG’s Director of Public Networks, will discuss the SCONDA (Small Cells ORAN in Dense Areas) Project. SCONDA addresses the technical and commercial challenges of delivering 5G connectivity for an MNO into high-density demand areas. With a budget of over £16 million and DSIT funding of over £8 million, SCONDA will deploy an Open RAN network in Glasgow City Centre, integrated with the existing Three UK Core Network, and operating alongside traditional RAN systems.

The project underline AWTG’s commitment to innovation and is backed by DSIT funding.
