AWTG was honoured to be invited by The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) to participate in the IEEE International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC), on 08-13 October 2017 in Montreal, Canada.
PIMRC is one of the premier conferences in the wireless research arena and has a long history of bringing together academia, industry and regulatory bodies and it was AWTG’s pleasure to attend the conference.
AWTG’s VP of Operations, Muquid was invited by the conference organisers as a speaker and he talked about the ‘Challenges to deploying 5G’. The narrative that the 5G community has collectively socialised is that 5G will fundamentally change the way we live our lives, deliver public services and generate new ways of doing business. 5G will require a paradigm shift in our understanding of service conception, capability and delivery in order to cater for the diverse requirements and high expectations. Crucially Muquid’s speech focuses on the practical deployment challenges as well as the underlying business case to answer the question ‘Can operators afford to deploy 5G and how much will it cost?’
It was a very successful event and we look forward to participating in other IEEE conferences in future.
