Collaboration and Innovation: AWTG and ECH’s 5G Rail Project Meeting over Luncheon

January 29, 2025 – AWTG recently hosted project meeting with partners from England’s Connected Heartland (ECH), who visited our lab to witness our cutting-edge innovations and discuss about the goals and future of the project. During the visit, we demonstrated various ongoing private network capabilities and shared insights into previous innovation projects. This meeting provided an opportunity to introduce key project contributors and foster a deeper understanding and connection as we prepare for the project’s full rollout.

As the 5G Mobile Private Network supplier for ECH’s leading 5G Rail Project, AWTG is contributing to an operating model that could be replicated across other rail sections in the UK. Supported by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT), the project aims to boost awareness and demand for private 5G networks in the rail industry, tackle connectivity challenges, explore solutions for rural connectivity, and create a sustainable funding model.
