Major UK 5G Connectivity Projects

AWTG was appointed as the technology and delivery partner for the multi-million-pound Borderlands 5G Innovation Region project, aimed at advancing connectivity across the Borderlands region. Also the main partner in delivering the groundbreaking England’s Connected Heartland project, which will enhance broadband connectivity along the soon-to-be-reopened railway line between Bicester Village and Bletchley.

DSIT-Funded Telecom Projects

AWTG has been actively involved in several DSIT-funded projects, including leading the SCONDA Project, which focuses on tackling challenges in High-Density Demand environments; contributed to the CORE HDD initiative, supporting the development of the Open RAN ecosystem in the UK; and partnered in the HiPer-RAN project, aimed at accelerating the UK telecoms system

Deployments

Both Barnsley and Kingston Public mesh network Wi-Fi and small Cell were deployed in 2011.

First 5G Core Network

AWTG work closely with University of Surrey “ 5GIC” to developed first 5G core network in the UK and the provisioning of software solutions and applications.

Certifications, Award Wins & UK Tech Firsts

AWTG achieves ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Certification and Cyber Essentials Plus. BeMore, the AI and AR-powered apprenticeship app of Liverpool that AWTG designed and deployed, won Technology Award at LGC Awards. AWTG was also part of the first ever real-time virtual production trial in the UK using Flex-5G technology.
