March 4, 2024 – In a significant step forward for tech collaboration, the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have announced a new partnership aimed at bolstering technology ties between the two nations. On this same day, AWTG, a leading technology services company, has also announced its own stride in strengthening these international tech relationships. AWTG signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Zain KSA, a prominent telecommunications operator in Saudi Arabia, signalling a promising future for tech collaboration between the UK and KSA.
The announcement was made alongside the broader declaration of cooperation between the two countries, initiated by Andrew Griffith, the UK Science Minister, and HE Abdullah Alswaha, the Chairman of the KSA Research Development and Innovation Authority. This broader agreement underlines the commitment of both nations to advance their technological and innovation sectors through mutual cooperation.
AWTG’s partnership with Zain KSA specifically focuses on revolutionising private 5G networks through the utilisation of OpenRAN technology and artificial intelligence (AI). OpenRAN offers a more flexible and innovative approach to building network infrastructures, enabling the deployment of advanced wireless services at a significantly reduced cost and with increased efficiency.
As the UK and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continue to build on their collaborative efforts in the tech domain, the agreement between AWTG and Zain KSA emerges as a beacon of the transformative possibilities that lie ahead. With a focus on pioneering developments in telecommunications and AI, the partnership is set to propel both countries into the next era of digital innovation.
